The following press release was published by the House Committee on Agriculture on Aug. 29. It is reproduced in full below.

Following the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of the Army's announced final rule amending the on Waters of the United States (WOTUS), Glenn "GT" Thompson, Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, issued the following statement:

"America’s farmers, ranchers, and landowners have come under regulatory assault from the Biden Administration. The Supreme Court rightfully curtailed EPA’s regulatory overreach, however, EPA’s bureaucratic sleight-of-hand circumventing the rulemaking process leaves the door open to agency abuse and regulatory and legal uncertainty for American agriculture. Our nation’s farmers, ranchers, and landowners are excellent stewards of their land and understand that clean water and private property rights can coexist without burdensome overreach from the federal government."
