The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is conducting market research to expand its Kosher and Halal food options in USDA nutrition assistance programs.

Companies that produce Kosher or Halal certified foods that are interested in selling these products to USDA for use in nutrition assistance programs, such as The Emergency Food Assistance Program and the National School Lunch Program, are requested to respond to a request for information (RFI) by June 12, 2023.

The RFI will allow AMS to understand companies’ capabilities and limitations for supplying these types of food products.

Contact AMS’ Commodity Procurement Program at NewVendor@usda.gov for more information about the RFI.
