APHIS has drafted a pest risk assessment (PRA) and risk management document (RMD) for the importation of fresh pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata), squash (Cucurbita maxima), and the interspecific hybrid var tetsukabuto (C. moschata x C. maxima) from Brazil into the continental United States. Based on careful analysis and thorough research, APHIS determined that the application of one or more designated phytosanitary measures will be sufficient to mitigate the risks of introducing or disseminating plant pests or noxious weeds.

The draft PRA and RMD is available for public review and comment for a 60-day period ending on July 17, 2023. To view the document or submit comments, go to www.regulations.gov, and enter APHIS-2020-0105 in the Search field.
