Are you looking for a career in conservation that will make a difference in the lives of all Americans? Come join the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) team in Texas!

NRCS is hiring 75 new soil conservationists throughout the state of Texas. The salary range for these positions is between $37,696 and $74,250 per year.

NRCS soil conservationists work one-on-one with farmers, ranchers, foresters and landowners, providing planning and technical assistance in the development, planning, contracting and application of land conservation practices and programs consistent with NRCS policy and procedures. Soil conservationists ensure landowners have the knowledge and tools necessary to conserve, maintain and restore the natural resources on their lands, and improve the health of their operations in the future.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the job announcement to be considered. This includes a degree in soil conservation or related agricultural or natural resource discipline such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, agricultural education, or agricultural engineering. Or, applicants may have a combination of education and experience.
