APHIS has drafted a pest risk assessment (PRA) and risk management document (RMD) for the importation of fresh ginseng roots (Panax ginseng C.A. Mey.) from the Republic of Korea into the United States. Based on careful analysis and thorough research, APHIS determined that the application of one or more designated phytosanitary measures will be sufficient to mitigate the risks of introducing or disseminating plant pests or noxious weeds.

APHIS is making the draft PRA and RMD available for public review and comment for a 60-day period ending on June 30, 2023. To view the document or submit comments, go to www.regulations.gov, and enter APHIS-2023-0023 in the Search field.
